What We Do

MOVE! is a national weight management program designed by the VHA National Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (NCP), a part of the office of Patient Care Services.

At the Battle Creek VA facility and its Outpatient clinics, MOVE! is offered and available to all Veterans with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of >25 who also have a disease that may be related to their overweight and to those Veterans with a BMI of >30 regardless of their health status.

  • Work with an experienced health care team (Dieticians, RNs, Exercise Specialist, Psychologist, and other medical providers)
  • Emphasis on health and wellness through education, physical activity, and behavior changes
  • Individual tailoring to meet your personal needs
  • Initial MOVE! orientation available to learn about the program
  • Options for weight loss support include individual with a dietician, group classes, and TELEMOVE (in home messaging device that connects to a phone line - cell and/or landline)
